Thanks to the invention of stereoscopy in mid-19th century we can now enjoy three-dimensional pictures on postcards, wobblers or packaging.
Stereoscopy is a technique creating the illusion of depth in an image. This effect is achieved by presenting a slightly different image to each eye at the same time. Developments in steresocopy such as lenticular lenses allow for obtaining several different effects.
